How well would a java fern and anubias grow emersed after they have been grown submerged? Does the water need to cover the rizome or just the roots?

I tried to search to board but I get a 404error.

Thanks
Dave

The search functions been disabled since the Crash of '04. No info when it'll be reinstated .

From what I remember reading, so long as the plant stays wet (natural habitat includes clinging to waterfalls) it will grow...I'm pretty sure that the rizome needs to stay wet.

My large Anubias plants often grow above the water line but they are always wet. Sorry that is the best I can do.

Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.

I have seen these actually grow up and out of the water (the rhizome)in riverine type aquariums. But, the rhizome does in fact stay wet in the gravel that it grows into. The roots as well remained in the wet sections. It did not grow up the wall of rocks it was near, but instead turned and kept growing in the wet substrate. So, I would not think it will survive if not kept complete wet of the rhizome

Thanks all. I saw a mister/fogger at the lfs and am considering picking one up for my 30gal Firebelly toad setup.
