I've got a funny story about my Wal-Mart Lilly bulb. It floats up and down in the tank on it's own. I went to feed my fish the other day, and I noticed that the plant had floated up to about the halfway point in the tank. I just figured my Yoyos had uprooted it so I decided I'd just replant it on WC day. Later that evening, the plant had gone back down to the bottom without me or anyone else touching it. It's been doing that for a few days now and I've decided to just leave it to do it's thing. It's a very pretty red lilly plant and one of the oddest plants I've ever had.

Has anyone even seen/heard of anything like this before?

How is this for a logical answer?

As the day progress it expands with a gas floats to the surface expells the gas then slowly sinks again.

Well I am only guessing.

Sounds logical, but it's up and down in the tank at seemingly random times. Last night when posted, it was floating near the surfae of the water. Now it's floating just above my "holey log" decoration. It just seems like it goea wherever it wants.

I had a dwarf lilly bulb like that. I just wrapped a lead weight around it and it stays where I plant it now
