Give it a week or two and with your light it should grow very fast. It's a good thing that you planted it in a 6Ft tank that stuff grows huge. Here is a link for it: [link=http://www.tropica.dk/productcard_1.asp?id=053A]http://www.tropica.dk/productcard_1.asp?id=053A" style="COLOR: #FF00FF[/link] Frank ![]() -->>> The Confidence of Amateurs, is the Envy of Professionals <<<-- |

I've never had that happen, but then I have never added that much. You only want your nitrates to be between a 5 and 10 (closer to 10). However I don't have a 6ft tank and so I would not know how much to add. Perhaps someone more familiar with chemistry or with dosing will read this post and can offer some thoughts. But if this is related to the issue you PM'd me about I'm assuming your NO3 was zero. If I remember correctly 1 teaspoon of KNO3 in a tank that size will give about 16ppm or thereabouts. KNO3 will not affect pH. Something else is going on. Test again maybe you got a dodgy reading. Test KH also to get a co2 reading. As I've already mentioned to you, the way you're setting up this tank is kinda unnatural.Really the tank needs to be stocked heavily with plants and nicely stocked with fish before using over 3 wpg and Co2. It's going to be bouncing all over the place and causing you all sorts of problems. This in turn will make the whole process of balancing the tank and getting everything growing nicely drag on. I know you're enthusiastic to get started but patience is vital at this stage. The start up of a planted tank is make or break. It's the difference between a smooth running attractive tank from the get go and a set up that's going to cause problem after problem for months to come. Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability. |

Yeah pretty keen it get all going thats all. Ok i will turn co2 off until all plants are in and just let the plants grow on what lights i have. regards axl |
