Good Live Plant That Would Be Compatible With an Oscar? | |
Cichlid Kid Fish Addict Posts: 553 Kudos: 285 Votes: 34 Registered: 22-May-2004 | hi i was just wondering a live plant that would be compatible with an oscar as a way of keeping nitrates down.it need to be tough or possibly floating so the oscar will resist the temptation to uproot it, and it need to be fairly hardy( i do not want hornwart needles shedded and floating around the tank, or clogging up the filter). Any Suggestion? Thanks -Cichlid |

Wingsdlc Fish Guru What is this? Posts: 2332 Kudos: 799 Registered: 18-Jan-2005 | Anubias and Java fern would be two good low light plants to try out. The nice thing about these plants is that they do best when attached to rocks or driftwood. If you are interested in floating plants you could try water lettuce. Check out the links below to help find a plant that might work for you. http://fishprofiles.com/profiles/plants/ http://www.plantgeek.net/plantguide_cat.php?category=1 http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/myplants/ 19G Container Pond [IMG]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y118/Wingsdlc/Ric |

It certainly would have to be fixed to drift wood other wise they will continually dig any plant up. Also Anubias prefers to grow on DW. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
