Hi everyone!

I'm new to fishprofiles, and a first time FW aquarium owner (since Dec 27, 2004). I have 2 Bala Sharks, and 1 female Betta taking up residence so far in a 20 gal. all glass tank (will be adding a few more fish in a couple weeks).

Could anyone please tell me what types of aquarium plants that I have here? I forgot to ask when I purchased them They all seem to be doing pretty good so far, currently I'm not feeding the plants anything. Thanks ahead of time!

Jay

First picture is Hygro Polysperma and judging by the white veins it's the Sunset/Rosenverg variety, but a very pale one. In good light the leaves should have a nice pink color, in poor light the leaves come out green. Relatively easy plant.

Second one is Egreria(sp?) Densa a ver easy extremely fast growing plant. Very easy.

The 3rd looks like an Anubias, I can't see the base of the plant, if it's growing from a rhizome (a stuuby bit with dangling roots) then it definately is. Again very easy.

Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability.

Sorry I can not answer but I know Bernard has done his best to help.

It is very pleasing to see the famous word "Please" It is a pity it is not used more often.

Bernard was right on the money! Thanks I have 2 Dwarf Gourami's, one of them that likes to nibble on the tips of the Anacharis (Egeria densa), so far they're not looking rough at all.

Has anyone had a chance to use "The Aquarium Plant Plug"? I am using a couple of them, one for an Anubias Nana, and for a Hygrophila Polysperma. Just thought I'd try them out until the plant roots well enough to be planted on its own.

Glad to have helped

I have many Anubias and several nanna none of them are in the base all are either tied to wood or rock. I have found out with experience they do not like being in the base but prefer their roots to be fully exposed.
