I have serpea's platys and corys(they sleep on the leaves lol) And the fish who I suspect to be doing the damage my Dwarf Gouram I see him picking at the leaves, but never eating it so I figured mabey hes eating alge ![]() What do you think is happining to my plants??? 10gallon: 8neons 5gallon: 1betta 1oto 2platys |

Hornwart. While Cabomba has three types: aquaticia australis caroliniana with two variations: paucipartita pulcherrima The plant in your link looks much more like a variety of Cabomba. We would need a close up of the plant in question. Enough of that... The "leaves" of Hornwart and Cabomba are very fragile and you did catch the culpert in the act. They enjoy algae and green, green leafy material in their diet. It looks like you also have some Anacharis in the tank. You could float the anacharis, and give the gourami something else to munch on. It's got roots, so it ain't hornwort (hornwort doesn't have roots)... BTW, Frank, did you know that there are 2 (or more?) different species of hornwort? I've personally owned them both (or 2 of them, at least)... it's kinda weird. One kind has the 'needles' that are known to fall apart all the time and clog filters... the other kind doesn't (and is a lighter color)... Anyway, that's my random tidbit of the day... HTH ![]() |
