i have a stem plant that looks like a water lillie but in miniture. is this a semi aquatic plant or is it realated to the water lilly? it is growing rather well in my tank. it got strong rigid smooth stems that send shoots up from the roots, the leaves grow up like water lilly leaves open and round shaped with pale green veins. anyone know anything about them?

It could be what is sold in Aust "Banana Plant" The roots look rather like small fingers spreading out.

A photo would help.

hi keith
nah its not banana plant, wouldnt mind getting hold of one though.
no photo poss at moment, however can try discribe it more. lets see, its single stemmed to start with. stem smooth and straight, about 2mm thick. mine are all roughly 15cm tall, green and leaves are round like lillies and they are horizontal looking up to light like water lilly would in pond. stem and leaf both green. mine have now sent shoots up to resemble minatures of the adult stem, there leaf is about 1/2 cm size. any ideas??
they are regulary seen in Pet City stores in my local area. however when ive asked what there called the employees say they dont know
