Started my first planted tank about 2 month ago..
all was well till I started to notice that the java moss I had wrapped around a piece of pumice rock started to (i think) bloom it is every where now, I have removed the original moss covered rock but I have strands throughout the tank and it's plants.
I transferred my pleco hoping it would like to nibble on it (no luck)
the 3 ottos dont care for it either.

30 gallons under 2x96 watts = 6.4 wpg running about 10 hours with 1/2 hour breaks every 4 hours. flourish 2.5 ml 1xp/w CO2 provided through jungle fizz tablets 2xp/w

any suggestions

Java moss doesn't bloom, per se... it just sends off new branches of itself, and occasionally you will see little black stalks with tiny pods on the ends, but moss spores are super tiny and take literally years to actually grow into regognisable moss.

What may have happened is the new moss shoots blocked the light from the original moss that was tied to the rock, so the original moss died and rotted enough for the new shoots to break away from the original clump and go floating around your tank. No fish is going to be interested in eating it, so you'll just have to pick it out by hand. A way to avoid this in the future is to keep the moss trimmed to that it can always get light. Then you can tie the trimmings down to other pieces of rock or wood.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

Thats alot of light also. Even though you have breaks, 6.4wpg is alot! Java moss is usually considered a low light moss. So under high light it probably grows out of control.
