Those are cute!
It's a great study in miniaturization!
IME java plantlets take forever and a few years to grow up...however it's also ME that java just loves co2. Yup! that's right CO2! Even though it's a low light plant, supplimenting CO2 (not in the little betta jars obviously) speeds up their growth considerably.

Keith -

There are a few teeny tiny daughter plants that are floating, mostly because I couldn't get them to stay planted. As for the light, it's not specifically a plant light... it's a small halogen desk lamp that will serve until I can find a replacement. I figured since java ferns are pretty low light anyway, they can survive without have 5600K fluourescents.

Glad you like the av!

Sounds good try to float a pieces as well. Question as well will the desk lamp be sufficient/correct light to give the plant growth?

Like the new Avatar now I know what it is this time.

Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.

Hehe... I'd love to. Right now, this was all free stuff. I'm at the end of my fundage, so this is temporary. Perhaps by the time I have a new job (and money), these java ferns will have grown up a bit.

I've got java moss, too, but those are REALLY tiny bits of wood. I mean, they range from 2" to 4" long and the longest one is maybe 1/4" wide. I've got another piece soaking that I could use, maybe. Depends on what size tank I get to make this up in the future. I've got spare one gallon tanks. *shrugs* Don't think the bigger piece of driftwood would fit in those, though. *shrugs*

:votes for putting them together in a decent sized cup, attach moss to the wood, a carpet of baby tears/glosso, several bee shrimp, and calling it a tank:
