![]() | Java moss on Driftwood and Plecos |

I'd like to get more Java moss, but I have since added 2 common Plecos, and know that they need access to driftwood in their diet. If I plant Java moss on the driftwood, will the plecos still have access to it? Or will I have to "prune" the moss? Thanks! |

I've been trying for weeks to get java moss to grow on part of a large piece of driftwood in my tank, and my pleco seems to be able to untie the line holding it down and he sweeps it all into a corner of his tank. I personally think that driftwood looks great partially covered in moss with parts of the wood still exposed. It requires a bit of pruning, but it should keep you, your moss, and your plecos happy. If it's a branchy piece, you could put moss just on the main body of the wood and it will take quite a while to spread to the branches. How big is your tank, btw, that you can keep 2 plecos? Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean... |
