Does anyone know of some good low light plants to put into a tank? Here is my dilemma: I live in an apartment on the first level. For safety sake I keep my windows blinds closed. So my tank (10 GAL) doesn’t get direct sunlight. But I recently rearranged my apartment and now my tank is right next to the window where it gets a little more sunlight because I can crack the blinds a bit. I have plastic plants but maybe would like to put in a live plant (or two) but don’t know what would be good that wont compete for the oxygen in the tank. Any suggestions?

Smapty,

What kind of light do you have on top of your tank?

There are quite a few low light plants out there, but just a crack in the blinds won't do for any.

Hornwort will sometimes work just fine with roomlight alone. Java moss I've had stay green after I forgot that I'd put it in a drawer for blackout for 3+ months.....in fact I think it grew :%).
Java fern likes a bit more light but it'll survive on very low light.
Adding lights to the tank itself will of course help the most .

You can add some Moss Balls to your tank.
Do you have a light bulb on top of your tank?.

Java moss will survive anything And I have had it grow in a bucket without water...outside in 100 degree weather

I THINK pygmy chain swords can grow in low light, but I am not sure.

There is a list of plants that can grow in low light in [link=this]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/Planted%20Aquaria/62255.html?200507272034" style="COLOR: #40FF40[/link] thread. It's the 10th post down.
