Mixing Substrates - ADA Aquasoil & Eco Complete | |
TW Fish Master * * *Fish Slave* * * Posts: 1947 Kudos: 278 Votes: 338 Registered: 14-Jan-2006 | I'd been planning a 3ft tank and bought enough ADA Aquasoil to do the job. It may now be a 6ft tank instead. I also have enough Eco Complete for a 3ft tank. How would it work if I mixed the two different substances together & then spread that over the ba Would it work? Cheers TW |

But if you are ok with the texture i dont see any problem. I have mixed several substrates and found some to work great together for plants. Regarding your soil mixer: I am mixing whatever I have and as long as it is good starting material, I don't worry. Eco and ADA should work out nicely as both substrates are black, correct? Both of them are also excellent plant substrates, ADA affects the pH, Eco does not, IMO no problem ahead. Algae, of course .... but that you get always for free. |

I'm hoping to hear from tetratech, who has used both. I think ADA is slightly less black & the texture is different, but I don't think this will be too noticeable. I am assuming that you cut a deal and are gearing up for a 6 ft tank?Yep, deal struck. Not too hard, as hubby is the one pushing me to do (for some strange reason). Cheers TW |
