Hi,
I just received my July issue of Aquarium Fish Magazine
and in it there is a new book announcement.
"How to Grow Magnificent Water Plants" by Lorne D. Sykes
Ph.D.
Has anyone purchased this new book and what do you think
about it? Should I add it to my library?

Haven't heard of it. Wonder why it hasn't hit Indonesian bookshelves yet

But if you do get a copy I'd love to hear what their opinions are, especially on the nutrition side of things.

I have the page with the book announcement in front of me (between me and the laptop, to be exact ).

This is an add from the author and somehow way too much of a cheap sales pitch for my flavor, with coupon, reader quotes, and all the sales bells and whistles.

I would much rather see an independent review before going out and buying the book.

Plus, I think the author is borrowing "common" wisdom in the trade, like purchasing KNO3 rather than Flourish Nitrogen, etc. - although he mentions that "Nothing detailed in "How to Grow Magnificent Water Plants" has been previously published in any form ... Ever Before!!"

If that would be so, don't you think at least one of us would have heard about any new revolutionary method has been applied successfully?

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. Actually, my thoughts paralleled
Ingo's as I was reading the hype associated with the
ad. It kinda reminded me of the Miracle Grow hype.
I could not find it on Amazon either.

I think I'll wait and see. I'm not going to spend $40
on a book that draws on lore instead of scientific
principles.

bensaf would be able to buy it off a reputable street vendor in indo for about 75 cents and then tell us all about it , so my advice is to wait till it hits indonesian shores

Well I buy all my DVD's and PS2 games from "reputable" street traders, might as well get my books there too
