I received my shipment of eco today. Carib-sea was good enough to replace my entire amount. One thing I noticed is that the granule size is smaller almost like onyx sand.

Anyway, no sign of milky liquid, but I'm going to test it anyway. Tomorrow I'm off to pick up my 72gallon bowfront. Already called the store to save one for me.

LittleFish,
By the way, I'll be going to Aquarium Adventure to pick it up.

Interesting thread on the limestone contamination. The replacement ECO is more like Onyx Sand or Onyx Gravel?

Bob,

Not sure about Onyx gravel, it just reminds me of the onyx sand. Believe it or not, carib-sea said sales for eco of increased since the contamination, because people are very happy with the replacement eco and the way the company handled it.

Sonic,
Good to hear no phosphates, I've had enough for a lifetime.

Thanks DaFishMan!

My old eco has new life as a fertilizer for my japanese maples, weeping cherry and other terrestrial plants.

Afterall it is high in phosphates
