You will notice roots that develop along the stem as it grows toward the surface. I have planted a longer length of stem parallel to the bottom of my tank and had multiple stems appear. __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |

You can take multiple cuttings from a stem but I would simply trim it in half then plant the half beside the orginal stem until you have created a thicket. My tank is 20 inches from substrate to surface so I am planting 10 inch stems after trimming.
