I picked up some OPHIOPOGON JAPONICA or "Mondo Grass" from Petsmart tonight. I started reading up on it and one source said that it's not a true aquatic plant, and that it would not thrive in an aquarium and most likely die with in a couple of months.

Is this true?

Yes, it is sold in this country as a bedding plant for marginal (wet/damp) areas. It is more of a bog plant than a true aquatic plant.

Angel,

Tropica offers an inexpensive and very good plant book that you can purchase on line through http://www.tropica.com. I view the book like an American Express card, I never go plant shopping without it!

Yup, that's why chain stores are... uh... nevermind, I'm gonna get sued.

Let's just take this as a lesson to do some research on the plants or the store before buying.

I have had great luck with Petsmart, and also with live plants from there.

Since Mond Grass is more o a "bog" plant, would it do well in about three inches of water? I've only seen it up cloe once, and can't remember exactly how tall it is. My frog would love it if I could fit it in his almost overgrown tank.
