Hi,
I'm afraid you would have to define "Affordable."
There are several on line sites that sell live plants.
Arizona Gardens, DrsFostersmith, Big Al's, liveaquaria.
Pick up an issue of Aquarium Fish magazine, and look
in the ads.
The basic problem with most of them is the minimum order
value. For some, it can be quite high.
Probably the best way to go is to order a "package" of
plants sized for your capacity tank. Plant them and then
let them grow into the tank. That is better than going
nuts at the beginning ordering bunches of this and that,
and cramming the tank.

aquariumplants.com is my personal choice. They have a very good selection and their plants are top quality.

As Frank mentioned, you can mail-order plants on the cheap really. If you choose a cheap shipping option most plants - besides anubias and java fern - will turn to mush enroute. And that's something you can't really get around.

Don't forget Aquabid! There are tons of plants for sell on there. I'd just caution about checking where a seller is from, as there are some overseas and while I've had good luck ordering from a couple of them, the shipping is crazy (but worth it if you order alot).

I second Aquariumplants.com as well...have had great luck with plants from them as well as dry goods. Aquaticplantdepot.com is good for your common plants.

Thanks Everyone,

I order from all of them at one point so i know all the in and outs, I guess I was hopping for that magical place were everyone goes but its a secret to the masses. I'm redoing a tanks and just want to order it all from one place this time and save on shipping for a change. LFS have nothing as in the way of plants, What's up with that. Don't they know the the 70's aquariums are long gone.

I have ordered from aquariumplants.com and was very pleased - all plants were in good shape and are growing in my tank. This was more than a year ago. Aquariumplants delivered fast and confirmed the delivery address with me before mailing. In the meantime I had ordered from another company that shall remain anonymous ...
