I recent bought a plant from the lfs and it was labelled with "Pink Baby Tears" but I don't know if its true, because they labelling the common plants with the wrong names. Also I dont seem to be able to find any info on these plants on the web. Can anyone ID them?

Mangor,
Well it's not "Baby Tears" - Hemianthus. I'm pretty certain it's Bacopa. It gets a reddish color in very bright light. It may be emmersed growth also.

I've heard there are some red/pink varities becoming available.

Very easy to care for but more then likely the new growth will be green. If your lights good the top part may redden again.

Here is the Rotala rotundifolia "Baby Tears"

There is a Bacopa amplexicaulis "Bronze Bacopa" being sold in Aust at the moment and I believe has been around for some time now.

Ah these common names can be a pest I've never heard of Rotala beuing called "Baby Tears". That's usually the common name give to Hemianthus Micrathenoides.

Having said that Keith could be on to something there. It could be emmersed Rotala. It will also go pink in bright light. If it is Rotala you should see a dramatic change in the leaves, which will become long and thin and not at all round when submerssed. Bacopa leaves don't change shape much between emmersed and submersed form, it's more of a change in the texture of the leaf.

For some reason the plant above looks like emmersed growth to me. How the plant behaves in the next few days (if it's Rotala you will see the change very very quickly, stuff grows like lightning). Watch to see if the leaf shape changes shape or color.
