With that lighting, you can keep the anubias and java fern. If you double the wattage, you could keep the rotala, wisteria and bacopa. I would suggest cryptocorynes and aponogetons also. Saggitaria would be a nice foreground plant also. |

The plants might I did say might grow but it is not very likely and if they did they certainly would not be very healthy plants. Many forget it is not only the wattage it is the type of light as well. Both my tanks have two fluro tube lights one plant and the other a daylight also they are not the cheap ones you pick up at a general store. The better the quality the longer they last which is usually about two years. If You do get that much ligh, it will be useless unless you add fertilizers and supplemental co2. They will be the limiting factors. Personally, at the least, i would get a second 15 watt strip. That way if you do not want to deal with ferts and co2, you do not have to. But if you want to, go for the full 3 watts, which is not neccesary to grow nice plants. |

My lid only has 1 strip for a light... so should i just get a higher powered light??? Cheers, ~Zix Stix~ |

You usually need to get the glass hood for the higher powerd lights anyways, because they sit on legs, which dont fit on the plastic hoods. |

A glass top is a must as this stops any moisture getting to any of the electrical components.
