![]() | Platies eating my wisteria |
Shizzy![]() Fingerling Posts: 28 Kudos: 25 Votes: 0 Registered: 24-Oct-2005 ![]() ![]() | I recently made a wisteria forrest newly planted 55 gallon. I noticed many of my platies kept nipping at the plants. I watched for a while and saw them actually eating the wisteria that had come loose, they even fight over it. Is this anything to worry about? Does anyone have any similiar experiences? Thanks. -Ryan |

There isn't really much you can do to change their habits, except maybe supplying them with lots of greenery they think tastes better than the Wisteria. You might, in the future, try aquascaping with plants that are a bit tougher than Wisteria, such as Crypts, Anubias, Swords, etc... ![]() I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

First remove all the plant eaters and buy some fish that will not eat those plants. Secondly remove those plants and get some hard leafed plants that the fish will not eat. Sorry not much of a choice. Mine only eat leaves that are on their way out, like the ones that don't get enough light. I also have a tank with Star Grass and Wisteria and they prefer the Star Grass leaves. Are you sure that the Wisteria parts they eat are in good health? Ingo ![]() |
