It looks like some sort of rust or black spot. I have different lillies but mine seem to prefer heated water as they did no good outside in the pond but thrive in my aquarium. Being indoors, the leaves don't get that dark green look but they seem to be growing just fine. |

In the second picture, it looked like one of the entire plants was rotting. I would trim the damaged and rotting plants out of the pond. In the meantime, I have found a couple of sites that may help you: http://www.gardenstew.com/about7111.html http://www.pondweb.com/content/view/124/2/ vt.edu/pubs/envirohort/426-040/426-040.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://www.ext.vt.edu/pubs/envirohort/426-040/426-040.html Hope this helps... I had searched a bit around but hadn't really come across anything helpful. The one common denominator, regardless of what the problem is, is the advice of removing the 'sick bulbs/leaves'. I just got rid of nearly all of them. We'll see what progresses. Thanks again guys/gals. |

I posted about this same thing at a forum related to ponds (in spanish) and a guy in Argentina swears my fish are eating the new roots of the plants causing this damage. What do you guys think of this hypothesis and if you happen to agree, what could I do to stop them from eating, could I perhaps provide them with some supplement in their diet? |
