	Substrat. Coconut fiber???
mike77ca Hobbyist Posts: 89 Kudos: 89 Votes: 0 Registered: 07-Jun-2004	Has anyone had any experience using coconut fiber as an under gravel planting medium??? I,d like to try it because its way cheaper than peatmoss, and apparently doesn't alter pH. Does it cloud or foul the water??

It's not needed nor is peat moss.Surely the tiny amount of peat needed can't be that expensive ? Use an inert substrate and dose the water column. Plants will take everything they need through their leaves. It's cheaper , much more convenient and less problematic. Some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue. Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability.
