I am looking for tall 20cm easy grown, good lighting, narrow leafed but not stem plants. Also it must be available in Aust.
Area 24cmx6cm

Keith,

How about corkscrew vals (or any vals) or aponogeton crispus?

20cm is not a lot to work with. About 8 inches, a lot of plants will outgrow that.

Not sure what's available in Aus, but a few options,
Narrower crypts like:
Cryptocorene Willisii x Lucens.
You may get away with cryptocorene Spirallis. The leaves get quite long but they bend and curl so it doesn't get too tall.

Tall variety of Saggiataria Subulata.

Giant Hairgrass.

The small swords like Echinodorous Bolivianus or the other one Quadricos something or other (???)

Most aponogetons will probably get too big. The only one I can think that will fit the bill is Aponogeton Capuroni.

Blyxa Japonica might work but might be a bit too small. It's actually a stem plant, but looks and grows like a sword/grass plant.

Another option is Narrow Leaf Java Fern. You can train the leaf size. Any that get too long you can cut off and the plant will eventually "learn" what height to grow too.

Some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.

Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability.
