Too high lighting? | |
GobyFan2007 Fish Addict Posts: 615 Kudos: 363 Votes: 65 Registered: 03-Feb-2007 | Hi all! I was thinking of starting up a nano shrimp tank, and i know that WPG fails badly with the tanks. I plan to get a 5 gallonish to 2 gallonish tank with lots of groundcover plants, such as Dwarf Hairgrass, Glosso, and Riccia. I was thinking of putting a clip on or an adjustable head type lamp, and putting PC bulbs (I think they mean -Power Compact- Screw-Ins?) with daylight K. Now, i have seen bulbs for sale that have 20 watts. I am very doubtful that such high lighting will prove good for such a small tank. Will it burn the plants leaves? Or will it induce algae? I was thinking of getting a 15 watt then, but it might not be enough......I really want to make this tank work!!! Thanks, ~Goby ><> ~=!Vote Today!=~ <>< -----> View My Dragons <----- |
