I get the DrsFosterandSmith magazine fish edition. I saw this in it and it looked nice. What do you think. This is the article:

"Easy and inexpensive way to safely add CO2 to your planted aquarium. Natural fermentation process provides a steady supply of CO2 for up to one month. Includes a suction cup mounted powerhead that injects fien bubbles of CO2 directly into the water column for vibrant plant growth and vitality."

System: cost $29.99
Refill: cost $6.99

Does it sound like a good idea?

Thanks

I checked it out on the website. It looks like a fancy DIY. You can probably make one yourself for a lot cheaper and get something just as effective if you're willing to experiment a little.

What tank (size, fish, plants, lighting, water parameters etc.) are you thinking about this for?

Hmm, i totally agree with Joe. It is just an elaborate ripoff on what you can create for less than $10. THe DIY method is simple, so why pay an extra $35 for a name brand and a fancy container. Now on the other hand, the Refills are something else. I dont know what drives these refills, but if it lasts for a month, i might consider getting a pack of these instead of the yeast and sugar. Im not exactly sure if they DO last for a month. We'll have to experiment. I think i will take it up when i get my new 30g long, or even right now in my 10 gallon downstairs! Anybody else willing to experiment on a tank that dosent have CO2? We could eliminate some variables too!

I dunno, maybe its just the container, and maybe its just the way they advertise it, but i just want to buy it sooo badly! Even if i know i can make it on my own! I almost did one time, but my good conscience told me that it was just not worth it for now. Maybe i will get it in the future, I dunno.

Hope this helps, ~Goby

I found this on Big Als for 21.99 with refils at 4.19. For the person who is a complete beginner at Co2 it might be a good idea for them.

Just a thought

Thanks for your input as always, Shane
