Hey ya'll. Well, things are coming along nicely, and I have my ferts all ready to go, and am planning how I'm gonna plant this sucker. I have a piece of driftwood, and was wondering what you guys thought of this plant list, and placement.
29 Gallon. PC lighting, 2.25 wpg, DIY Co2 dissolved through HOB filter
Here is the MS paint picture
and here is a pic of the DW how it will be when setup, but w/out rocks on top
Grey- Wisteria, or maybe a different stem plant if I find one I like better
Light blue- Ludwigia repens (4-6 stems, more?)
Green- Dwarf Hairgrass
Red- Corkskrew Val
Blue- Red Tiger Lotus
Pink- Crypt wendti, maybe a lil under the DW
Dark Green- Java moss
Yellow- Anubias Barteri(Is there a better one to attach to DW, and should I wait on adding this to the tank till its developed and going, or put it in at first?)
Brown- Driftwood

hmm some would say the dwarf tiger lotus gets to large for a
29G. and anubias Barteri definetly will get big, If you want
a smaller anubias it go with nana. Not sure how Dwarf hairgrass responds under 2.25 WPG.

Other than that looks like a nice beginning to a tank. Though
I personally don't like the driftwod, since it lacks
character and is just like a lump of wood, no interesting
shape or form. but to each their own.

HTH
Megil.

Keep the lotus trimmed of pads rising to the surface for a bushy effect. You can add some interest to the wood by angling it from the top of your tank to the substrate.

I have to agree with Megil,

That is some big piece of driftwood. It almost looks like there is very little ground left on which you can plant directly.

It probably doesn’t help that the piece is the only item in the tank when you took the picture (plus the rock weights). On second thought though, it might look actually much better once all plants are in and growing. I remember that I thought my rocks in the 125 are large, now I feel more like they are too small .

I assume you plan to attach all the anubias and moss on the wood, right?

I too would say that a Nanas might be better suited.

Well, I searched all of last weekend around here, and that was the best I could find in terms of DW, Some of the other pieces I found were actually just like cylinders. I will have to try that Bob, thnx. and, i was trying to decided whether or not to go with nana, but, now I think I will. Should I tie it to the DW from the start? since they grow slow
And, I might just take out the tiger lotus, I just have to think about what else to put in
