I had been feeding the 5 Cherry barbs and 4 Ottos just Zukini and saw that wasnt good for them, so i started feeding regular food and this stuff showed up I wasnt over feeding them. Any Ideas?? I guees it is a possibility that you have fed too much, i have noticed my water gets a little disgusting when i feed cukes. Regular water changes should prevent this. |

I have also seen cherry Barbs having a good feed on it as well. What are your water parameters, type of filtration and lighting also how long is the light on for. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. All I can say: split lighting, works wonders; water changes on a regular basis but I am assuming that you do them. this type of algae is also very popular with a slightly higher pH (which you have, if I remember correctly). fishmonster Big Fish Oh My Heck! Posts: 329 Kudos: 88 Votes: 73 Registered: 11-Apr-2007 | Thanks all for your input, Im at work right now so I cant give you water params, what i can tell you was that i had the light on for 12 hrs a day and up until latley it wasnt affecting the tank at all. I have split the lighting now, 4 hrs on, 4 hrs off and 4 hours on again to see if that helps. I do a 20% change weekly and yes it is hard water, I do have a softener on the line, however it has not seasoned itself at this point. I will get water params tonight hopefully Thanks for your input as always, Shane http://thetanklog.blogspot.com/ - [ Thanks to ScottF ] http://www.natureaquariumclubofutah.com/main.html |
