Unfourntanatley I have not yet found excell around here so I will keep looking. My tank is about 9-10 months old and I dont have premium mebership so no photos anytime soon. It is carpet like when I let it grow a little but very small some larger pieces though. I am thinking of doing a diy co2 soon when I replace the light and rescape so I think that will solve it. I went to my lfs and got a insane employee who new nothing and they had nothing in the way of ferts, excell or algae removers. I will keep working on this but so far the net hasnt provided anything.

Also I dont think it is spider as I carefully monitor my tank.

Does any1 know of a chain that caries excell?? My lfs manager hadnt even heard of it.

Thanks for all the feedback!

bcwcat22,

There are other ways for you to show us your pictures, just look [link=Here]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/General%20Freshwater/32302.html?200403032151" style="COLOR: #ff6633[/link].

And how about ordering Excel online if you cannot get it locally? I would suggest [link=Big Al’s]http://www.bigalsonline.com/" style="COLOR: #ff6633[/link] because they don’t charge a fortune for shipping.

Sounds like it could have been some form of a bacterial fungus. I hope it all goes away for you.

Have a look in [link=My Profile]http://

The white stuff I had has not returned since I did the cleaning. I am now having a problem with some spider web looking stuff in one corner of my 55. I don't think it is actually a spider. Could overfeeding cause something like this? It is bigger than the other white stuff I had, and really looks like a spider web. I vacuum it up but it keeps coming back.

I keep doing water changes but it seems to get worse after them so I am going to get my phosphate tested at my lfs and see if that is the issue.

I am thinking about getting some phosphate remover. I don't know if my LFS tests water because they don't seem to know what they are talking about when it comes to fish. I have tried changing water too and it is still there (the web looking stuff).
I hope the little white things are not that hydra. I dont want things like that living in my tank and I'm afraid to do a blackout because of my new plants.
The new stuff really looks like a spider web. I know thats not what it is though. I wish I new how to get rid of it.
Good luck getting rid of your stuff. :%)

Good luck to you with your algae.

Never listen to lfs employees as they are not reliable. They said my giant ramshorn wouldnt eat plants.lol

I finnally found my cause 5-6ppm of phosphorus. So I added anacharis and some other plants to hopefully solve this problem.

bcwcat22, please keep us posted--I've got the exact same white stuff you and girliegirl do. I'll try to find a phosphorus test...
