The "multi-vitamin" approach is probably more appropriate in your situation, where you have many plants, a gravel substrate (not laterite, Flourite, or Onyx), and just want to be sure that the plants have enough nutrients. In that case one of the liquid "Flourish" or "Tetramin" brand products would work just fine. Besure to dose according to the instructions, and REMEMBER you do not have 15G of water in a 15G tank. The gravel, rocks, and any other ornaments, displace some of that water. If you overdose, you are setting a banquet for algae. Like fish food, you want to only dose what the plants can use.
