do these plants need co2? I have a 15 gallon tank that has 1 wpg without co2. I read that they need 1 to 2 wpg and can survive in 5.5 to 9 pH so i assume they do not need it but i would like to know before i puchase them because they are kind of expensive.

the ones i am looking at are

Anubias bateri
Anubias nana
Anubias frazeri

thank you, any other info on these would be helpful

also, does anyone know a good site for puchasing plants online in the US

All plants need CO2.
But, anubias like many other will do extremely well without you having to add any extra CO2 to the tank.

oh, yeah i knew that but i meant additional co2, thanks for the help, they seem like a good plant for that tank. i dont want to have to run co2 in that one because in my 20 gallon the plants grow to fast and need to be moved all the time.

I have a 5ft tank full of Anubias and never have run Co2.

I have seen tanks at LFS with Co2 and Anubias the plants look very healthy and strong. I have been well informed that they are a very slow growers and do not actually require Co2 but as I stated will grow well with it.

Mine get 2.5ml of a liquid Fert once per week. There is plenty of air and water movement as well (one reason for not running Co2) and all are growing very well. Some of the larger varieties could easy be over 20+years old.

Anubias are very nice. Just make sure of one thing though- keep that nasty algae away from them. You should plan on stocking a few ottocinculus in your tank or something similar.
