Hi,
I see that your post has gone unanswered for several
days. I did a search and found dozens of sites on
the internet about this type of plant. So many that
I appearantly needed to refine the search to narrow
down the options.

I can't answer your specific question. I do however
question the viability of the seeds and wonder if
they might be sterile.

Try the "plant geeks" site, or try emailing Tropica
on their site or try emailing Arizona Gardens, with
your question.

Keep us (me) posted with the results of your question
as I too would like to know.

Frank

well, i had 3-4 of those jalapenos before, now i have none! however, i did find 2 of them on my gravel near the flower stem... they look like they might sprout too!!

i did small research, i think due to so many species of apons, they described these things pretty vaguely. i think the jalapenos is the "fruit" and it is suppose to split open and drop seeds into the aquarium.

i'll let you know if the 2 jalapenos lol spouts or not in a few days.

well, good news i guess, i found 3 of the mini jalapenos on the gravel, and each one of them have developed 2 mini leaves and some roots. i have moved them to the front of the tank so i can keep an eye on them, if all goes well, i guess i'll have 3 more apon plants
