Me? Meh, my main suggestion falls under the heading of "if it melts, don't throw out the roots." I'm of no real use. Frank's link is a great one, and don't skip The Krib's Crypt page, either. But on the whole, don't worry - I've been keeping crypts for years and years and only ever had two melts. It's not a tenth as common as it sometimes seems, especially in the hardier species. You'll lose a few leaves, maybe, but beyond that? Unlikely.

It was Falstaff who had that suggestion originally. It's a recent thread - should still be in this forum somewhere.

Basically soak for 20 mins in some water from the new tank in a bucket (this supposedly tricks the crypt into thinking it's moved and it produces self destructive toxins) and then rinse under tap for a few mins (this washes off the newly realeased toxins) and plant.

Best tip for crypts? Do nothing. Just plant them and walk away.

Yeah, don't touch them or move them once they're planted. I have one that's four times the size it was when I got it (crypt wendtii), and in a tank with 1.5 wpg

I got two bunches of Crypts. One only had 1 stem melt but the other bunch, half of it was gone. But now, about 2 weeks later, I see growth on both bunches and some really nice dark green leaves on the one that almost completely melted.
