FRANK Moderator Posts: 5108 Kudos: 5263 Votes: 1690 Registered: 28-Dec-2002	Hi, Give it a "rich" substrate in a tank that has had fish in it for a while (a year or so), or has laterite under the gravel, or is pure flourite. Give it about 2 watts/gallon or more light for between 10 and 12 hours a day. Give it alkaline water, water above 7.0 pH and water that tends towards the hard rather than the soft side. Make sure, like frank said that you've got a good substrate, good lighting and if you can be bothered, co2. I noticed runners forming on my vals 2 weeks after planting.

Speaking from my own experiences with the plants, they don't like to be moved around once established--although others have stated otherwise. Maybe it's just me, then. Yeah. I use sand, ph 7.2, my waters GH is about 16, about 2 wpg (one plant gro and one daylight tube) ... in fact its the only plant ive managed to grow in my aquarium :lol: but we'll see had some more delivered today, wish me luck
