You can set a timer for that and forget it, or, you could do 8 hours in the "winter" months, and 10 Hours during your "Summer" months. fishimishi Small Fry Posts: 1 Kudos: 2 Votes: 0 Registered: 10-Jul-2012	Helo, my light is for 9 hours activated. Between 1 and 4 p.m. i deactivate it because of the sun-light. The advantage is, that the light is on at evening when iam at home.

FRANK Moderator Posts: 5108 Kudos: 5263 Votes: 1690 Registered: 28-Dec-2002	Hi, Generally speaking because our tanks are tropical, with tropical plants, we would want to minic the daylight cycle in the tropics. By that I mean give your plants between 8 to 10 hours of light. You can shift that time period so to include the sunlight shining on the tank, and shortening the length of time the lights are actually on and have them go off when you would normally be going to bed.
