Stargrass, egeria, temple, hairgrass...all venezuelan natives. By the way, rams are from the llanos and connected river systems, not the Amazon.

Planted tanks and fish only tanks are 2 completely different beasts. Growing plants is easy enough, but needs some thought and preparation first. Unfortunately it's not as easy as just putting the plants in.

There's plenty of info on this forum, check out the threads. specially check out the sticky at the top of this forum page.

Not to worry if Rams don't fit in 'Amazon Biotope',
just change name to South American Biotope.

Rams are in that.. The plants....Swords (Echniodorus species), Dwarf Sagitteria, Corkscrew Vals, Hairgrass, Amazon Frogbit, Pennywort, Brazilian Elodia.. Some driftwood would look great too !

The Amazon Nut...

For a really nice looking planted tank, especially a 25 high tank, you are going to need a really good light, as the light that comes with the tank will not do a great job. Also, CO2 will really help your plants, it is very easy to make your own CO2.

Hi,
Go to this site: http://www.azgardens.com/habitats_south.php

It gives you the light requirements, temperature range,
gravel, and other recommendations, most of all, a list
of plants that will fit into your biotope tank.
