i just got 14 stems of anacharis, and 1 jungle val, was wondering what is the different of corkscrew and jungle? and there are like 2 more varieties out there? which ones are prettiest? and easiet to keep?? because my lfs only had jungles this shipment, and i saw them switching the corkscrew label with the jungles.

i am loving the jungle val right now, it creates such a unique look in between my cabomba and anacharis.

Hi,
Go to the website for Arizona Gardens, or Tropica:
http://www.azgardens.com/
http://www.tropica.com/default.asp

And look up Val. There are several types that show
up regularly in the aquatic trade. Many are too large
for even the largest tanks, and others are quite "small."

I'm a val fan, as you all may know by now. Jungle val is my favorite though, it has straight thin elegant leaves that can grow up to 3ft and more, I use them in the sides of my tanks as to cover the submerged equipment and make the leaves go from bottom top and side to side, I just love how that looks.

Check the aquatic plant profiles bellow, you can find more specific info on them. They are also very hardy and undemanding, and once they grow and established root system, they'll start growing runners like crazy.

Vals are amazing, just got addicted to them myself. I could almost pull all my plants and let the Vals take over the tank.

Straight Val is the largest, the leaves can be over an inch wide, and easily over a couple feet long.. I had to remove it from my 29 gal it got too big.. Awesome in a larger tank. If it lasts 3 weeks I'll give one to my stepdad for his 120 gal.. It'll be perfect in there !

Jungle Vals are a lighter green I think smaller then Straight Vals. Nicer in a tank my size.. Which is good because I found 4 baby ones at Sauble Beach on the last long weekend !

I think corkscrew and twisted Vals are the same thing.
I'm not familiar with them but any Val is cool.

Im a huge fan of corkscrew val. It looks cool and it doesnt grow all over the place. I have some jungle val and corkscrew val in my 2ft and I have to trim the jungle val every week while the corkscrew grows but slowly. I bought 2 corkscrews altogether, but now after a few months I ended up with 11 plants and still growing!
