hello, i am in a process of shopping for plants for my tank. i noticed there are a lot of different types of moss. taiwan moss, singapore moss, java moss, christmas moss...ect, anybody know which one grows "neat-er" ??

because a lot of the pictures showing these moss on driftwood all looked really messy, i know i will have to trim them a little, but i kinda dont want messy green stuff growing on my driftwood/rock atm.

I'm a big fan of christmas moss if you can find it. it branches a lot more than java moss and stays somewhat more compact.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

I'm aware of the difference between "Christmas" moss and Java Moss. Not sure of the Taiwan and Singapore ones , may very well be the same , just a different name.

Either way the one that I've seen looks the best is the one known as Taiwan moss. It's much more compact, grows in kind of an upward U shape. Looks it's best in large mounds where it can appear very full and dense but neat and well shaped.

Some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.

Remember that age and treachery will always triumph over youth and ability.
