All I can say is that I was told to remove it all. This info came from a commercial Aqu plant grower.

The plant will eventually get rootbound if you leave it in the pot, plus the wool stuff starts to decay and rot, if I remember correctly. That's what I was told, anyway. *shrugs* Just gently remove all that stuff (the wool might make a bit of a mess) and rinse off the roots before planting. Try to get rid of most of the wool stuff.

Yes, take the plastic pot & wool off, rinse the plant well & then put it in your tank. Some plants come without the plastic pot aswell.

I just want to add...YES remove the wool. Not only will it rot, but it is also loaded with nutrients to promote growth and can cause an algae problem.
