Actually that is a "scooter blenny" and not a lawnmower blenny. Not sure of the size of it, but it appears to be a small male. The first dorsal of females is relatively small, and this could be a large female. The males use these to "flash" to the females. If this is a small male, when he gets larger, the first dorsal there will get larger as well. They are awesome to see when they get larger. He will eventually get 3+ inches. You can put a female with him. As the females will not fight. The males will though. If you have a tank that is 90 gals or more, you can also put another male, as they will have enough room to be "free" of each other, and not fight much then.

Unlike their relatives, the Mandarins, these guys will survive on other foods than the copopods. So, make sure he gets his share of foods down on the bottom of the tank. Brine shrimp is releshed by these guys.

HTH.....

To quote from MarineDepotLive...

Scooter Blenny - Synchiropus ocellatus
Also known as: Scooter Dragonet, Ocellated Dragonet
Reef Compatibility: Reef Safe.
Maximum Size: The Synchiropus ocellatus grows up to 3 inches..
Sizes shipped: Sml 1.5 Inches, Med. 2.0 Inches, Lrg 2.5 Inches.
Minimum Tank Size: The Scooter Blenny prefers a tank of at least 20 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Synchiropus ocellatus is a planktivore and feeds on Amphipods, Copepods, and other small sessile invertebrates.
Level of care: The Scooter Blenny is a high maintenance fish.
Compatibility Notes: Generally peaceful towards other tank mates, but may act aggressively towards other Blennies.
Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 - 1.025, pH 8.1 - 8.4, Temp. 72 - 78° F).
Range: The Scooter Blenny is commonly collected from the Western Pacific Ocean.
General Notes: The Scooter Blenny, like it's cousin, the Red Scooter Blenny, can be kept in small groups consisting of 1 male and a few females. Males are easily distinguished by their long and flowing dorsal fin. The Scooter Blenny is an attractive species but is not recommended unless you are able to house them inside of a reef type aquaria, that has been established for a few months. Newer tanks will not have built up a viable supply of live Amphipods, Copepods or Mysid shrimp. Although this fish can and will adapt to frozen foods, it is highly suggested to try live Brine shrimp, to get the fish to start feeding. Afterwards try frozen Mysis shrimp or Ocean Nutrition, Prime Reef.

HTH a bit, I took that chunk of information from [link=here]http://www.marinedepotlive.com/373914.html" style="COLOR: #3c4e82[/link]

Females look identicle in color and shape. The only difference is the first dorsal on the females will be small. It is very noticable the difference in size. Other than the dorsal size, there is no difference to the naked eye.
