PHup works good for this. Just squirt a bit on each on and it dies, same as joes juice. Peppermint shrimp, not all will eat them, so you should get like 4 of them. They do a good job. A copper banded butterfly, one of teh best looking fish around, will eat every one of them. But are very delicate. Dan Dan |

dthurs Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 4340 Kudos: 4170 Votes: 529 Registered: 18-Feb-2003 | Looks EXACTLY like the aptasia I have in my tank. Darker brown, thick tenticles, and a mouth at the center. Some are lite brown, others are dark. I'm sure there is more then one type of aptasia. Try to get another close up picture of it with better detail. Dan Dan |

terranova Fish Master Posts: 1984 Kudos: 1889 Votes: 229 Registered: 09-Jul-2003 | You're probably right Dan. I'll grab a close up in a little while and post again...although Nate had an idea of something else it could have been, because it moves. I've seen it switch locations, although it's pretty comfy in the spot he's got right now. It just really doesn't look like the majority of the aiptasia's I've seen. It has so much more of an urchin figure, it's weird. And the tentacle type things are banded...and darkish tan, not pinkish at all. *sigh* Picture soon. -Ferret -Formerly known as the Ferretfish |

dthurs Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 4340 Kudos: 4170 Votes: 529 Registered: 18-Feb-2003 | That is exactly what I have in my tank. I have treated them as aptasia, and the peppermint shrimp eat them up. If they are not aptasia, I would be very interested in knowing what they are. For a while I thought it was a corn anemone, it still could be. Dan Dan |
