Here's an interesting one. My mom said that a long time ago, she had a saltwater tank with an anemone and some other stuff. She said that one morning when she looked at the tank, the anemone had moved and was on the heater, melting itself!!! She moved it, but by the next morning it had done the same thing and was dead this time. The anemone melted itself to death!]:| Is that the craziest:%) thing or what? Does anyone know what happened with the thing?

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

Well, they do move themselves.

But unless the heater was broken, and stuck on, I just don't see how 78-81 degrees would be enough to melt anything, sans an ice cube.

Reach in and grab the bottom of your heater when it's on.

It will melt stuff .

I'm sure it died of something else. It had nothing to do with the heater. When an anemone dies it simply melts away.

Lol just because a tank is set at around 80 degrees that doesn't mean that's how hot the surface of the heater is, the heater itself is a lot hotter because it has to heat the whole tank.

I see snails on my heater nearly every day, I've never seen one melt off and die
