This is not something that can easily be changed once the profile is approved, so it would be best to just resubmit the profile with a resized image. Additionally, tangs do not have sucker-like mouths. I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

Melosu58 Hobbyist Posts: 120 Kudos: 86 Votes: 0 Registered: 05-May-2007 | I beg to differ with you as this tang does have a sucker like mouth.I have many spots on my glass where this fish has it`s mouth prints on the glass trying to get the diatoms off the glass. As far as the pics I have used the same size that I`ve used on others that I have submitted. As far as info on this fish I have had a Kole tang several yrs of the ten yrs that I`ve had a reef tank so I feel pretty confident on the info I gave. Maybe you can share your experience on Kole tangs. This is the second one that I have had. |

Tangs have terminal mouths. True sucker mouths, such as those found in Loricariids and Catostomids, are highly specialized adaptations that not only allow the fish to feed on smooth surfaces, but also to hang on to the said surface. Most fish with sucker mouths come areas subject to fast currents (and therfore are more common in freshwater than in marine fish), and the mouth is equipped with teeth to hold on to these surfaces for extended periods (which tangs cannot do) and also have specialized openings in the mouth to allow the fish to breathe while attached to the surface (which tangs also cannot do). There is a huge difference between a sucking disk-like mouth and a mouth that can simply suck. I've worked with about 15 species of tangs (including Koles, many of them) and dozens of species of species that actually do have sucker mouths for the past several years, so I'm pretty confident on the info I gave. Also, the image is too large. There is no formal limit on image size in the photo (although there should be), but if the picture is wider than about 400 pixels or so, it takes up a large portion of the screen and makes the profile info compressed and sloppy-looking. Additionally, the profile picture contains a clownfish, coral, and a bunch of rock, which is completely unnecessary. It should be cropped to contain only the species discussed in the profile. I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

Yes it's good to have the profiles in place, but this is something that is VERY difficult for adam to go back and fix. Crop images to 300Wide 200 High. Larger images can be submitted once the profile has been approved in the additional photos section. Remember that not everyone is 100% with it and only the livestock in the profile should be shown. |
