Good, much needed profile for a commonly available species that often ends up languishing in tanks with insufficient flow with goldfish. Much needed dietary explan for beginners. Important profile. Well done.

Reject because the photo is huge, and that's the way it will show up in the profile (taking up the entire page). The info is good, so I suggest it be resubmitted with a cropped and resized image.

Good call, Natalie. Anyone want to take a shot at resizing it? I'm no good with photo stuff.

Thanks Natalie. I think that looks pretty good.

I'll make up a new profile now.

Edit: Except it won't let me. Oh well -- I'll try again later.

Further Edit: How'd you get the white circle out of the picture, Natalie? There should be at least a small slice of it, but I don't see it.

Good to see a profile for this one on here.

Only comment is that in the year I have had one I have never seen it eat any of the commercialy prepared foods fed in the tank. I have only ever seen it eating algae/aufwuchs grown in situ, it even ignores algae wafers and the "algae rocks" that are cultivated outside the tank. This may be just my specimen though.

I have a ventral pic if you wish to include that also:

I guess this one has to be voted down so that the scientific name is available again, because I just tried creating a new profile for a different fish and it worked.

*shrug*

I'm sure it's a pretty tough fish to photograph, if you can ajust your film speed down, and use something to stabilize the camera you might get a less grainy image.

Yeah, but unfortunately I don't have these little guys anymore, so new pics are not possible.

These pics are two years old. Believe it or not, that's the best one I have. I am not -- in any way, shape, or form -- a photographer.

Edit: But you sure cleaned up that picture nice. I needs to gets me some Photoshop skills. Or just ask my girlfriend to take a whack at it.
