I believe the listed range to be way to narrow, in particular the low scale entry seems to be way to high. Albeit I usually don't like to link out to make my point, here are a few references: - This one is from The Washington State Department of Ecology, in particular the phrase "Habitat: Favors ponds, lakes, and quiet streams with low pH" is of interest here. - And This One Here is from a site that deals more with plants and usually serves as a great reference for plant profiles. Not sure where you got the figures above, but just browsing through a few sites gives a wider range of pH than you have indicated. ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~
