I received my dual tube strip light today from Big Al's only to find out it doesn't fit on my 40 gallon long All Glass tank. (not to mention one of the lights has a broken pin) I need a glass top to fit on the tank so the light doesn't over hang the open water. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thank you.

ummmm... maybe I'm overlooking the obvious here. Just measure the width of your tank. Take that measurement and buy a strip light that fits.

measure the tank and take the measurement to your local glass shop and get a piece cut to size, best if you get that piece cut in half so you can lift one section out at a time.

Gibson SG you know you want one!!

I got my glass canopy from my LFS, I looked on big als website but couldn't find them if someone else has seen them post a link please I still have one or two more to buy.
Know your measurements before going to the store....I had to return one because the lenght was fine but the width was about twice as big :%)...

I went to the glass shop and got two 22 7/8" X 9" panels, edges polished, $30. They tell me DrsFostersmith has them but I didn't see anything but the versa hoods. Thanks for the responses.

versa hoods are what you need, but they dont work that well with PC lights, not sure about twin tubes.

Say, what would be the problem with the Versa Hood and PCs?
The plastic strip in the front 3rd that would block the light?

Thanks,

I thought the plastic strip was there to cut out the holes for your air and filter? I was actually looking for just that the other day so I could upgrade the lighting on my tank, need a glass top for the dual strip light.
