Aquarium Stand Purchase | |
JTF Enthusiast Posts: 245 Registered: 16-May-2004 | I was considering purchasing one of the aquarium stands sold by Walmart for a 29 gallon tank. Does anyone own this stand type, any comments on its sturdyness etc would be helpful. Tanks alot. |

Just put them together tight and have them on a surface that's as close to perfectly level as you can get, and it should last quite a while. Just be sure to inspect all the materials when you get them home and if any defects are found, don't use it. 29 gallons of water on the floor along with crud from the fish isn't good!! |

While plenty of people have a tank leak or crack at one time or another, I don't remember ever being told about a problem with someone's stand. If for some reason you're still worried about it, you could always buy one from another place, like a chain store or lfs. |

It's extremely sturdy and it doesn't look half bad either. If you want a cheap, sturdy stand that's the way to go. I have had mine for 3 years and it's still going strong. I will mention that whereever it required wooden dowels, I used a little glue with the dowels for added strength. -Josh |
