I know a 75g would require quite the large generator, so I am wondering if it would be possible to use a glass beer carbouy? I was thinking this would work as they have a cork with a hole in that tubing could pass through, and this would be large enough to supply enough c02 to my tank right? Any ideas on how to attempt it? With soda bottles you have the thread that helps hold the cap down. Also the seal between the airline tube and the cork may be a cause of leak. You might consider siliconing that or using the barb adapters. Depending how thin the cork is (I'm assuming it's a few inches thick) you might want to use a barb all the way thru the cork. You'd also need to consider how to shake up the bottle. That looks to be about the same size as a 5 gallon water cooler jug...I know I've used them to hold water during tank moving activities (happens a lot @the office )...but to shake one up ...that' might be a bit too much for me . ^_^ And join me for a swim tonight" |
