Just curious on how much it costs altogether for a great co2 setup? and by adding co2 do u need to increase the wpg right now i am at like 1.5 wpg which isnt good but i am going to get the DAYLIGHTS from the hardware store, would that be sufficent enough? O yeah i am in Ontario Canada

Depends what sized tank you have.

If you've got a smaller tank you can easily get fine results from a DIY setup, infact its' often recommended that before buying a co2 setup that if you're not running a tank larger than 75 gallons to try a DIY setup just to make sure you're up for it before committing. DIY doesnt cost all that much and while it is somewhat more intensive in the upkeep gives you a good idea of the results you'll see.

Once you get your lighting over 2wpg, 65,000 to 67,000 kelvin preferably daylight bulbs then the co2 can be utilized by the plants. Much under 2wpg and the algae is more likely to make use of the co2 than the plants.

I wouldnt worry about CO2 until you have at least 150watts.
