Can someone point me to some instructions of how to do a DIY CO2 unit? I am looking into making one for the 60 gallon tank. Thanks very much!

diy co2 will not work for a tank larger than about 30g (unless you're dr. bonke ). you can try to make something, a [link=google search]http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=diy+co2&btnG=Google+Search" style="COLOR: #ff0044[/link] will turn up plenty of information on the subject. but for the most part, it won't work for so large a tank. you will need a pressurized co2 system for that tank eventually if you plan on getting serious about your plants

I think DIY co2 still works for a larger sized tank, but it becomes a bit of a pain in the derrier as you need a few 2l bottles of co2 mix running rather than just one. So still feasible but more hassle.

I run one 2 ltr DIY in my 40 and there is def a noticeable dif than without it. Would adding another bottle help? Sure, but I'm happy with it's function as is.

I drilled a small hole in the filter intake tube and have the CO2 line feeding into it.

The only problem so far is after about 5 days I have to keep an eye on my PH or else suffer drastic PH swings when it depletes.

My 55 has a a twin 2L setup and it runs perfectly.

I also stagger the changing of bottles so I never run out.

Works fine, give them a shake every day or two tho!
