I am kind of short which means that I have trouble reaching into some of my tanks at times without getting all wet. My 25 gallon tank is abour 20 inches tall and so are my arms. This makes it very difficult for me to get to the bottom of my tanks. I will either have to get an extended arm or have to figure out another plan. I was thinking abotu building my own tank that is shorter than most so that when I need to work on my aquarium I won't have to change clothes afterwards because I am soaked. What would it take for me to be able to build my own tank that is shallower than 20 inches? I want atleast 90 gallons? I want to build an overflow in it as well because as it says in the topic, I want a reef tank. I know there will be times that I need to stick my hand down in the tank to grab something and I know that the 90 gallon tank I am looking at is much taller than my arm is long... Can anyone help me with this? Sorry for the long story. I have a tendency to ramble at times lol:%) Tell me if this is not a good idea, I would really appreciate it. Also, if anyone has a better idea, especially one that might be a cheaper solution I would appreciate it. Christina |

High stands can be a real pain in the but sometimes. (Why did I make it that big?) That would actually be easier on the stands if you think about because it displaces area of the water better and puts less pressure on the stand because it is spread out better. Thanks for that link. I hope I can figure it out! I am not too inclined when it comes to building stuff. Fortunately a friend of mine can! I will have to show it to him and see what he thinks! Christina P.S. Please tell me of any other ideas you guys have as well!!! |

I guess it all depends on what you want to do. 19G Container Pond [IMG]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y118/Wingsdlc/Ric |

My problem is that my arm is no tlong enough to work in the tank, like hwn I am repositioning plants in y 25 gallon. It is a taller tank, so I have trouble when trying to fix a plant. Just the other day I cleaned it out and moved some plants around, then I ahd to remove a fish and one of my plants came out of the gravel while I was trying to catch the fish. I have had to jsut leave it for not becuse I didn't feel like draining half the water out of the tank again jsut to fix a single plant right after I had jsut done that. See what I mean? Christina |
